STATS is seeking individuals to collect play-by-play information in real time from the press box for MLB games. The ideal candidate possesses great attention to detail and a strong knowledge of baseball scoring rules, as well as access to a laptop computer. Tablets and Macs are not supported. Candidates must be able to provide their own transportation. This is a full-season (April through September) position, and applicants should be available beyond 2016. At this time we are only recruiting for the following 12 MLB locations:
- Kansas City
- New York (Mets)
- St. Louis
- San Diego
STATS game charters are expected to keep up with live action pitch-to-pitch, also tracking substitutions, scoring changes, batted ball locations, etc. Applicants will train by scoring recorded games from home as unpaid training accounts, following by live accounts from home which are paid assuming continued progress.
Press Box Reporters will divide the MLB team’s home schedule along with (typically) three other people. Be sure you have solid availability for weekend games and for weekday day games. STATS will provide access into the venue press box, but transportation expenses are not reimbursed.
