Three Reasons Why Nothing Beats Fox Sports Coverage of the 2010 Hyundai A-League Grand Final

  1. LIVE and EXCLUSIVE coverage of the 2010 Hyundai A-League Grand Final between Melbourne Victory and Syndy FC from Etihad Stadium in Melbourne.
  2. WORLD EXCLUSIVE Interview with former Socceroos skipper Mark Viduka on Hyundai Matchday Saturday
  3. Ground-breaking new technology applied to Grand Final coverage

FOX SPORTS is giving football fans three huge reasons to tune in to the 2010 Hyundai A-League Grand Final this Saturday.

In the biggest finale to a Hyundai A-League season in history, FOX SPORTS coverage begins with a 90-minute Grand Final edition of Hyundai Matchday Saturday to preview the decider and look back at season five of the Hyundai A-League at 7.30pm AEDST tomorrow night on FOX SPORTS 3HD & FOX SPORTS 3.

In his first interview since he shocked the football world by quitting the Premier League, former Socceroos skipper Mark Viduka will join the panel to exclusively reveal the reasons behind his decision to walk away from the game at the end of last season.

Then, on Grand Final day, a panel consisting of former Socceroos and Manchester United goalkeeper Mark Bosnich, Andy Harper, Paul Trimboli and Melanie McLaughlin will deliver a comprehensive one-hour Grand Final preview show from 6.00pm AEDST, which will also include the announcement of the 2010 Hyundai A-League Player of the Year.

Finally, at 7.00pm AEDST, the big moment arrives when Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC kick off the 2010 Hyundai A-League Grand Final at Etihad Stadium.

The match will settle the argument once and for all between the rival teams, who have staged a season-long arm wrestle for Australian football supremacy.

During the match coverage fans will be offered a special insight into the action, with the application of a new broadcast technology to provide a powerful lineup of unique performance data.

SportVU technology will enhance the viewing experience by displaying never before seen real-time information highlighting player and ball speeds, accumulated distances, fitness graphs and coverage maps (see examples below).

The SportVU system, developed by the world’s leading sports technology company, STATS, was first trailed in Australia during FOX SPORTS’ coverage of the Hyundai A-League Preliminary Final last weekend.

During the Grand Final coverage, foxsports.com.au will also feature the SportVU technology in The GameZone (see example here) along with the best photographic images from the match as it unfolds.

Football fans will also be able to stay up to date with the latest news ahead of the big day on FOX SPORTS News.

The FOX SPORTS commentary team for the 2010 Hyundai A-League Grand Final includes the country’s premier football commentator, Simon Hill, backed by expert analysis from former Socceroos midfielder Robbie Slater.

FOX SPORTS LIVE and EXCLUSIVE coverage of the Hyundai A-League is available to FOXTEL and AUSTAR subscribers.
