Web Developer-Fantasy Sports

STATS is seeking well-rounded developers with a strong focus on the latest web technologies to join our Fantasy Sports team. This team is responsible for creating, and supporting web based products for both new and current customers.

Required:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent.
  • In depth understanding of cross-browser, front-end development issues.

  • Proficiency with JavaScript/AJAX (jQuery)

Database Administrator (DBA)

The Database Administrator (DBA) is part of Database Team responsible for implementation and support of Oracle and SQL based databases.

Responsibilities

  • Daily database administration, performance monitoring, backup verification
  • Create and manage database objects
  • Plan, manage, and monitor storage requirements
  • Plan, implement, and maintain database security
  • Setup, configure and maintain standby databases using DataGuard
  • Configure and manage backups using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN)
  • Database migration and upgrades - across versions and across platforms
  • Assist product development groups with data modeling and database design
  • Database and application performance tuning
  • Advanced database technology implementation - Streams, Partitioning and clusters
  • Setup, configure, and maintain Database Grid Control
  • Develop, maintain, and manage tools for monitoring and maintaining databases and environments
  • Prepare and maintain technical and functional documentation
  • Follow best practices in all database install and configuration
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Database Manager

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) on Unix/Linux platform
  • Experience with Oracle software installation and configuration
  • Ability to troubleshoot and fix Oracle configuration and performance problems
  • Recent working experience with large Oracle 10g and 11g RAC databases
  • PL/SQL Programming
  • Unix/Linux Shell Programming
  • Experience with Unix/Linux System performance monitoring tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem resolving skills
  • Must have the ability to work in a team as well as independently
  • Must be available 24/7 when in on call rotation and in emergencies
  • Oracle 10g certification or above

Desired

  • Experience with NAS/SAN storage technology
  • Knowledge in NFS, ISCSI and FCP Storage connectivity
  • Experience with UNIX/LINUX system administration

Computer Programmer

STATS is searching for a computer programmer with 2-5 yrs experience. We are the leader in providing sports information, stories, photos and audio content to media (internet, television, wireless, print), teams, game companies, etc. Our customers include, among others, FoxSports, ESPN, Yahoo!, MSNBC.com, The Associated Press, Electronic Arts, Sony and numerous professional teams. The successful candidate will help develop and maintain new products and data deliveries, including everything from real-time scores/statistical updates to one-time statistical uploads, as well as creating software for data input. A heavy emphasis in this job will be on data manipulation, extraction and back-end processing in an Oracle database. Work would be out of our Northbrook office.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, creative and self-motivated. A degree in computer science is desired. Required skills include experience in some or all of the following: ASP, HTML, IIS, Java, Oracle, PL/SQL, Visual Basic, XML/XSL. Interest in professional or college sports is highly beneficial. The ability to dunk is not required.

Data Collection

STATS is seeking detail-oriented applicants with experience in the sports industry to assist with evening and weekend Data Collection duties. All candidates should be able to type 60+ WPM. Candidates should be willing to work past midnight, and should possess an excellent working knowledge of baseball, football, and college basketball. Primary responsibilities include stat-checking, data entry, and video analysis. Position is 30 hours per week starting at $10+/hour, out of our Northbrook office.

Candidates with a strong interest in golf, and/or ability to work overnight hours will be given particular consideration.
